Collaboration between NASA and GM to send human-like robot to ISS

A special collaborative project between NASA and General Motors has created for the first time, a human-like robot will be sent into orbit to join the team on the International Space Station (ISS). Called, Robonaut 2 (otherwise known as R2), he is a robot that features an upper torso with a head and two working arms. The hope is that R2 will be able to aid astronauts on the space station, specifically in space walks.Initially, however, he will be sent to see how he performs in the presence of micro gravity and to work out any glitches.Soon, though, a robot will be enlisted that is hoped will eventually work along side humans in space.
